There is one thing I never skip.
Ever.
It’s my morning shake.
It’s part of my morning routine and is my quick go-to for a morning meeting or as I sit down to respond to emails and social media or write in my journal
A long time ago I committed to paying better attention to my health and part of that commitment is starting my day with the fuel my body needs.
I now always eat breakfast and believe that you should too!
My breakfast shakes are usually a bright green. They are full of green vegetables, most often spinach but I do make sure I get a variety over the week! At first it took me a while to get used to drinking green smoothies because it was just a habit to start and part of my new regimen, but now I find that they really do taste great!
Even without looking at data (of which there is plenty!), I think inside most of us know that our diet doesn’t include enough fruits or vegetables.
Smoothies are easy to make and allow you to get more veggies into your body then you would over the course of a normal day. Especially since most people do not have a side of spinach or leafy greens even if they do normally eat breakfast!
Remember, like all new habits you want to build, start SLOWLY and take it one step at a time. Smoothies are practically impossible to mess up! Even though mixing vegetables and fruit together may sound strange, believe me when I say you do not even taste things like spinach once it has been blended!

Here is my current morning shake:
- 1 or 2 scoops of Sunwarrior vanilla protein (depending on how long it will be until my next meal)
- 1 cup of almond milk
- 1 cup of spinach
- 1/4 cup blueberries or strawberries
- 10g of chia seeds
- top off with water and ice cubes
If your diet is lacking in fruits and vegetables, why not give a breakfast shake a try?
Make it a daily habit and I know that you will see improvements in your body, your energy and your mood!
Cheers!
